After Two Weeks

After Two Weeks
Fantasy Football Notes

15 players have had more targets this year than Calvin Johnson. Megatron has 19 targets (14 receptions) for 205 yards with a 14.6 yard per catch average. He is 2nd in the league in receptions that go over 20 yards with five, only behind Brent Celek of the Eagles. Reggie Wayne also has five 20 plus yard receptions. Calvin is still scoreless with his next two games at Tennessee and then home against the Minnesota.

With all the talk surrounding Wes Welker, he still has 16 targets through two weeks. That's one more than Rob Gronkowski and five behind Brandon Lloyd.

Through two games Andy Dalton has been sacked 10 times.
He was sacked a total of 24 times last season.
Through two games Jay Cutler has been sacked 9 times.
He was sacked a total of 23 times last season.

Alex Smith of the 49ers currently has a 70.2 completion percentage. That's fifth best among starters.

1. Christian Ponder 75.8%
2. Phillip Rivers 73.8%
3. Sam Bradford 71.7%
4. Robert Griffin III 70.9%
5. Alex Smith 70.2%

I mentioned this earlier today on Twitter but...
Chris Johnson has 21 rushing yards this season. There's 11 QB's and 5 WR's with MORE. The 11 QB's don't include Aaron Rodgers and his 21 rushing yards. There is exactly 54 other running backs with more rushing yards than CJoke. It's hard to imagine but 26 players have had at least one rush over 21 yards. Johnson is killing fantasy owners like me but I'm not ready to let him go just yet. The Titans next 3 games are: home against the Lions, at the Texans and at the Vikings. Detroit allowed five yards per carry last season making this Sunday will be a good measuring stick game to see where the former 2,006 yard rusher will be moving forward.

Now obviously not all of these trends and stats will hold up for the entire season but it is something to think about as we approach Week 3. Here's another stat that shouldn't last much longer:

Mark Sanchez has more touchdown passes than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco, Jay Cutler, Cam Newton and Matthew Stafford.

Here is one stat that may hold up:

C.J. Spiller is averaging five first downs per game. I'm a fan of Spiller taking over for Fred Jackson. Once Jackson returns I think the Bills will stick with C.J. for a majority of the runs, after all he is averaging over 10 yards per carry. He is tied with Arian Foster for the league lead in rushing TD's (3) through two games. I have Spiller as a borderline Top 5 Running Back right now.

If you have any questions or need help with your roster tweet me @Awies28 or comment on the bottom of this article and I will get back with you as soon as possible. Be sure to hear me this Thursday at 6:30pm EST on Tennessee Sports Radio on Bro's Going Hard.
