Ryan Tannehill
Once Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III get drafted first and second overall the next best quarterback, in most people's eyes, is Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill is a 6'4" 221 pound signal caller that threw for over 3700 yards and 29 TD's last year for the Aggies. There has been a lot of speculation on where he may land in this year's draft. Here are some possible landing spots for the 23 year old.
#4 Cleveland Browns
I don't think he ends up being drafted by Cleveland. Cleveland has a lot of other needs to fill such as corner and running back. I have heard a lot of people say Tannehill has higher upside than Colt McCoy but how can you judge McCoy when he has no weapons around him. Pair McCoy with Trent Richardson or Justin Blackmon before you judge him as a leader of the offense.
#7 Jacksonville Jaguars
I know this comes as a surprise because we all know they drafted Blaine Gabbert last year in the first round last year but I have heard rumblings of Tannehill finding a home in Jacksonville. The fact is that Gabbert is already being labeled a disappointment but, like the Browns, the Jaguars would be better served filling other holes on their team instead of loading up on first round QB's.
#8 Miami Dolphins
*My Pick
The Dolphins have missed out on Peyton Manning and Alex Smith this off season. Matt Moore is a viable starter in this league but it's clear management is looking for a new play caller to be the face of their young organization. Tannehill would be the perfect fit for this offense and I think he makes perfect sense to go 9th overall to the Miami Dolphins.
#11 Kansas City Chiefs
If for whatever reason Tannehill doesn't end up with the Dolphins their is no doubt in my mind that the Chiefs will snag him 11th overall. Matt Cassel is a system quarterback who isn't getting better anytime soon. The Chiefs have put together a decent roster but they still lack that offensive leader they haven't had since Trent Green. Tannehill could sit for a year behind Cassel before taking the reins for the Arrowhead faithful.
Of course, once again this is all pre-draft speculation. Hit me on twitter if you have a different opinion or want to discuss other players, i usually respond fairly quickly. Thanks for reading.
