Jered Weaver's No Hitter
Los Angeles Angels ace Jered Weaver has made history with his first career no hitter, this is the second no hitter of the season (Phil Humber threw a perfect game last month against Seattle). Weaver needed 121 pitches to shut down the below average Minnesota Twins offense. The Angels ace finished the night with one walk and nine strikeouts. Weaver accumulated five ground ball outs and fourteen fly ball outs in route to history. The Angels won the game 9-0 and improve to 10-15 this season. Weaver now has a 4-0 record himself to go along with an outstanding 1.61 ERA. Weaver was my preseason pick to win the AL Cy Young and so far he has not let me down, on the year he has 45 strikeouts and only 7 walks. This was the 10th no hitter thrown in Angels history.
On a side note, Albert Pujols is still homerless (101 at bats this season).
